All breeds of dogs have some type of health related issues. For our breeds the ones listed below should be tested in all animals which will be used for breeding. As breeders we engaged in genetic experiments it takes a lifetime to build a breeding program of genetically clean dogs and one bad breeding to destroy it. That is why all our pup going to pet homes are spayed and neutered before leaving . We cannot take that chance. Anyone who breeds dogs without the genetic screening is irresponsible , If a breeder cannot show proof of gentic testing BEWARE , The price you pay for a puppy is nothing compared to what it would cost and the heartache you will have to get a genetic misfit. ENTROPION - causes ocular pain and corneal disease. If the eyelid is rolled inward sufficently so that the hairs rub on the eye, much damage can be done. Dogs with antropion usually squint and have watery eyes. If antropion is not corrected and rubbing continues , ulcers often develop on the cornea and the cornea becomes pigmented. Dogs that have had antropion correction cannot be shown nor should they be bred.
